Food: Arthropods, annelid worms and their larvae.

Habitat: Inhabits wet grasslands, grassy marshes and swamps, and wet meadows with tussocks and marsh grasses. Nest is on the ground, a hollow lined with nearby plants, usually well hidden in grass-tufts. On migration, it occurs on lake shores, river banks, and on the edges of different wetlands such as pools, ponds, saline lakes, and oases.
