Food: Diptera, small beetles, larvae of
mosquitoes and crane flies.
Habitat: This species migrates through by
late April – early May (on spring migration) and late August –early September
(on autumn migration). During the spring and autumn migrations, they occur on
open shores and muddy edges of fresh water and saline lakes, riverbanks ponds
and pools.
