Egg number: 4 (occasionally 3)
Egg colour: Olive buffs with dark drown or reddish-brown blotches.
Brood: 1 per year

Global status: Least concern
Regional status: Least Concern

Food: Arthropods such as insects and their larvae, annelids and worms.

Habitat: Nests in swamps and bogs with hummock and grasses, flooded wet meadows with short-but sometimes high and dense-vegetation in mountain forests, forest steppe and river valleys with old deciduous and mixed forests. Nests on the ground, concealed in a clump of tall plants partly pulled over to hide the nest.
