Habitat:  It breeds in open moist woodlands with wet soils, shade and undergrowth in deciduous and mixed forests in mountain taiga forest, forest steppe and river valleys. Single birds are found in forest, forest steppe, mountain steppe, steppe, desert steppe, and Gobi desert, occasionally planted trees.
