Food: Seeds of various plants.
Habitat: Parents build their own nest in
dense small deciduous trees and tall bushes in deciduous and mixed forests in
mountain taiga forests, forest steppe and valleys of lakes and rivers. The nest
is a thin platform of twigs and roots, with a finer lining layer. They mostly
stay in pairs and sometimes form small flocks consisting of 4-6 individuals
during the non-breeding season.
