Food: Insects and their larvae, spiders and
seeds of various plants.
Habitat: Nest in dried grasses lined with
softer and finer grasses and hairs on the ground. The nest is located behind
dried horse droppings, cattle faeces, and tussocks, tall grasses such as
Achnatherum and short bushes such as Caragana spp. in sparsely vegetated open
dry habitats with patchy tall grass, dry valleys of rivers and lakes with tall
grass and mountain valleys in steppe.
