Habitat: Breeding pairs nest in the abandoned
borrows of small rodents, rock crevices, holes of rocks, walls, and any gaps of
man-made substrates in open stony habitats with tall vegetation in high
mountains, edges of mountain taiga forests, forest steppe and mountain slopes
with crumbling rocks in mountain steppe, desert steppe, open valleys of lakes
and rivers, and settlements.
