Food: Insects, spiders, other arthropods and
their larvae.
Habitat: Nests in deciduous and mixed
forests, sometimes coniferous with thickets and dense tall bushes in mountain
taiga forests, sorest steppe and valleys of lakes and rivers. The nest is
placed in a hole in tree-stumps, rocks, walls, or on the ledges of buildings.
It is sometimes found on the ground in hollows of banks or among tree-roots;
but when in trees, the nest may be high up.
