Habitat: Breeding habitats are thickets and
dense shrubs on upper limits of mountain taiga forests. From early to
mid-November, they move down to forest steppe, river valley and mountains with
trees and bushes. They occur in pairs or small flocks and feed on seeds of
plants on the ground in winter in Mongolia. Sometimes, they are found on
mountain slopes with rocks and cliffs with tall bushes and shrubs in the
steppe.
